First and most importantly, I am a geek. I love technology and I used to do a lot of gaming (before the days of children and family life!).
I have been working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement (formally Dynamics CRM) as a Functional Consultant for nearly 7 years.
In 2011, I graduated from Loughborough University (UK) with a degree in Computing and Management and went straight into the Dynamics CRM world after graduating from university.
Whilst at university, I worked in a local bar to help pay my rent – this was great fun. It ultimately was not the career I wanted to pursue in life though. I needed to find something I really enjoyed and could continue on my geeky path using technology as part of my daily job.
I started out my career as a Dynamics CRM Consultant on a graduate scheme at a local CRM partner in the Leicestershire. Initially, I worked on projects shadowing the senior members whilst also working on the support desk for a period of time. This helped provide exposure to the various project implementations and interacting with customers and end users on a daily basis. I was thrown in the deep end on a few occasions, this really started to enjoy my work; I was constantly learning, investigating different ways of meeting requirements whilst also learning about the XRM Platform.
I have been working with Dynamics CRM since version 4 (I did touch a V3.0 instance, but I very easily broke the reporting services – I am still unsure how); but most recently I have been working with Dynamics 365 Online instances and the associated Office 365 software stack such as:
- Office 365
- Microsoft Portals
Whilst working with Dynamics, I have experience with the following 3rd party tools:
More recently I have started playing with SSIS and Kingswaysoft, but not so much in full project capacity.
I am based in Leicestershire and live in a town just off the M1 with my family; originally I came from Surrey and lived there until I went to University!
Whilst I used to game, play football and do all things I used to be able to do; most of my evenings I am looking after the little ones whilst they sleep so I can binge Netflix/Champions League and write a blog or two!
Oh, and I love Iron Maiden. #Trooper
I will add more information over time to this!
